ART HOYLE received his first trumpet at the age of eight and was playing clubs and ballrooms by fifteen. After leaving the military, he joined the Sun Ra Arkestra, later toured North America and Europe with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, and then joined the CBS Staff Orchestra. Art has been a featured soloist with Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Quincy Jones, Peggy Lee, Gene Ammons, and so many more. He also performed on radio, TV commercials, movie soundtracks, and has done voice-overs. Art currently plays with the Chicago Jazz Ensemble and may be heard at clubs and festivals in the Chicago area.
