
Alto saxophonist and composer, GREG WARD is emerging as one of the leading saxophone players of his generation, with a unique versatility in a wide variety of styles from Modern Jazz, Funk, and Latin to Classical, Indian, Klezmer, and African Music. Discovering Charlie Parker, Greg took up the saxophone, quickly gathering honors, beginning with Downbeat ‘s High School Jazz Soloist Award. Saxophone legend Fred Anderson selected Greg to curate the Wednesday Night Jam Sessions at the Velvet Lounge. Tim Reardon, Jazz Cabaret SoTish creator, describes Greg as “an amazing talent who was born to play the saxophone. . .[who] picked it up as a kid, worked hard and has risen through the ranks of Chicago jazz to thrill audiences around the world.” Greg has performed with musical greats including Von Freeman, Frank Wess, Al Jarreau, Rufus Reid, Jeff Parker, and Hamid Drake, touring the world from Peru to Singapore, Switzerland to South Africa. He has been featured at festivals in Paris, Montreaux, Umbria, and Montreal. Completing Greg’s Juggernaut are ZACK LOBER on bass and DAMION REID on drums.
