Named #1 Rising Star Vibes in the 2011 Downbeat Critic’s Poll and called “a young master,” vibist JASON ADASIEWICZ has been drawing universal praise for his dimensionality and timbre. The Chicago Tribune described his trio, SUN ROOMS, as offering “music that strikes the ear as bop, but when you listen closely there’s adventure afoot as the performers alter pace, melody and approach.”
Ben Ratliff in the New York Times named the CD Sun Rooms an end of the year Critic’s Pick in 2010, and Howard Reich named the group’s CD Spacer to his Best of 2011 list. For the last two years Jason has been nominated by the Jazz Journalists Association as a finalist for “Mallet Instrumentalist of the Year.” John Corbett writes that “it is arguably with Sun Rooms . . . that Adasiewicz offers the most direct demonstration of his expansive and highly personal instrumental vision.” Completing the Sun Rooms trio are NATE MCBRIDE on bass and MIKE REED on drums.
