
JOAN COLLASO is a powerful and compelling vocalist whose vocal styles of jazz, R&B, blues, and gospel have been enjoyed all over the world. She has received rave reviews at the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Netherlands, performing to standing-room-only crowds. She has made other international festival appearances from Estonia and Japan to Italy. Joan appeared singing in the movie, Soul Food, has been on countless radio and TV commercials and was a featured vocalist on Ramsey Lewis’s CD, Urban Renewal. She also has six CD’s under her own name. As an advocate for social justice, Joan has written, produced and performed for school age children and families. In 2010 she started a new organization, Timeless Gifts, a mentoring and performance program for youth in the arts (ages 8-18). Pianist, composer, and professor, LARRY HANKS, has scored and conducted the orchestra for renowned Soul artists Curtis Mayfield’s and Jerry “The Iceman” Butler’s Reunion Tour. Twenty years ago, Larry found a writing, and life partner in Joan Collaso. They’ve traveled parts of the world, created, and played music together for the last 18 years. Larry has been the resident pianist for the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago since 1995. Joining him in 2006, Joan Collaso became the first featured vocalist for Four Seasons. Completing Larry’s Trio are CHUCK WEBB, bass, and BEN JOHNSON, drums.
