Drummer/percussionist and recent college graduate, TAYLOR MOORE is one of the most sought-after young musicians on the Chicago music scene today. This young jazz lioness has been called “a gifted percussionist whose drumming is crisp, passionate and expressive far beyond her years.” After graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011, she began performing locally and nationally. She has appeared at the Hyde Park Jazz Society’s Sunday Evening Jazz series, ETA Theater Music Mondays, Charles Heath’s Jazzin’ On The South Side, as well as the Jazz Institute of Chicago Club Tour with her ensemble Taylor Moore & Friends. Recently named the Africa International House (AIH) Artist in Residence for 2012-2013, Taylor will be performing at numerous AIH events, including the annual African Festival of the Arts. AIH is an organization that promotes and preserves African-based cultures and educates the public about Africa and its contributions to humanity. With Taylor will be ROGER WEAVER, piano and JAMES THORNTON, bass.
