Looking for Jazz – Go to Hyde Park

July 11, 2010

It is true – Jazz is flourishing across its ancestral Chicago home. Check out how the Chicago Tribune’s jazz critic, Howard Reich describes the thriving jazz scene in Hyde Park in his June 29 column.  And then join us for FREE Friday jazz at the Hyde Park Shopping Center courtyard or Park 52′s Wednesday night Jazz and the fantastic Room 43 Sunday Jazz concerts.

Do you have your Passport To Jazz?  We have 2 more concerts coming up this summer!  So bring the Passport along, or pick up a new one, and earn a stamp at each concert.  Sunday, July 18 @ 2pm you can relax in the beautiful, outdoor sculpture garden at the Smart Museum of Art at 5550 s. Greenwood Ave. This is free and open to the public. The final Passport concert is coming up on Sunday, August 15 with the Corey Wilkes Quartet also at the Smart.  Check back for more details

You will agree with Howard that Jazz is alive and well in Hyde Park.
