The great news about the 5th annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival is all about amazing choices. There will be 41 jazz performances featuring over 150 musicians playing in 13 venues, on 15 different stages over 2 days, September 24 and 25. How does one decide where to go first? Download and print off the Official 2011 Jazz Festival Programming Schedule. Information about all of the performers can be found here. There will be a free Festival shuttle bus to help get you to the different venues. Many of the stages are within walking distance of each other. So start planning your day today. You may also want to consider purchasing a Jazz Pass which will provide you with access to preferred seating at most indoor venues.
In addition to all of that you can also choose between listening (or dancing) to the music, watching rare jazz short films, having fun with the kids at the fully programmed Family Tent, wandering through the expanded Midway booths or enjoying the many selections for food and drink on the Midway or at several of the venues. If you want to make a weekend of it see our new the Hyde Park Jazz Festival special hotel/B&B weekend packages. And for extra help on planning your visit to Hyde Park – here is information on transportation, tours, dining and shopping.
Lastly, get involved. This year with a two day festival, we need over 400 volunteers. You will get to see how the “Best Neighborhood Music Festival” happens every year. Please think about signing up for a few hours here and now. Or Give a Buck for Jazz. Every buck makes a difference. We could not do it without you. Thank you!
