Driving Directions

From Lake Shore Drive

Take Lake Shore Drive south to the 53rd street exit. Turn left at the first light, Lake Park Blvd. Turn right at the next light, East 55th Street. Take 55th Street west to Ellis Avenue. Turn left at Ellis Avenue and another quick left into the parking garage. From the parking garage, you may catch a free trolly to any festival venue.

From the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94)

Take I-94 to the Garfield Blvd. (55th Street) exit and head east on Garfield Blvd., following the signs for 55th Street through Washington Park. After you cross Cottage Grove Avenue, the next light is Ellis Avenue. Turn right on Ellis Avenue, and then a quick left into the parking garage. From the parking garage, you may catch a free trolly to any festival venue.

Free Parking

Free parking is available in the Ellis Avenue Parking Garage, at the south-east corner of 55th street and Ellis Avenue (view map). There are other parking lots around campus that allow visitors to park for free over the weekend, as well. See the downloadable PDF map for additional parking information.

Free Trolley Service

Free Trolley Service is available with stops at all venues throughout the festival. More information about this service will be posted closer to the festival date.

Public Transit

CTA Bus

The CTA #6 Jackson Park Express bus will take you from downtown Chicago to Hyde Park. Catch the bus southbound on State Street in the Loop. Get off at 51st and Cornell to go straight to the Hyde Park Art Center in the evening, or get off at 57th or 59th street and walk West to various venues. You may also get off at 55th Street and then take the #55 Garfield bus west to Ellis Avenue, and then cross 55th Street to the Ellis Avenue parking garage. Metra Train

Catch the Metra Electric commuter train at the Randolph, Van Buren, or Roosevelt station downtown. Get off at 57th or 59th Street and walk west to the various festival venues. For more information, visit the Metra web site.
