The Experimental Station is a nonprofit organization that develops independent cultural infrastructure in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago. By supporting various community-oriented programs and providing project and exhibition space to fledgling initiatives, the Experimental Station echoes the dynamism of natural systems in which strength derives from complex interactions among a rich variety of elements. Among our programs and projects are Blackstone Bicycle Works, the 61st Street Farmers Market, the Invisible Institute, and Backstory Café.
