The Tim Fitzgerald Trio will feature original compositions by Fitzgerald, as well as the music of Wes Montgomery and other soul greats such as Dr. Lonnie Smith.

Tim Fitzgerald is a Chicago-based jazz guitarist, bandleader, and educator. He is also the author of 625 Alive: The Wes Montgomery BBC Performance Transcribed, and the recipient of grants from the Illinois Arts Council Agency and the National Endowment for the Arts. His record, Tim Fitzgerald’s Full House–a love letter to his hero, Wes Montgomery–received Editor’s Pick and 4.5 stars from DownBeat, and rose to the top 15 of the national jazz charts earlier this year.

Called a “local great” and “massively resourceful” and credited with “a talent incommensurate with its renown” by the Chicago Reader, keyboardist/organist Tom Vaitsas is known for his tremendous feel and sensitivity. He has shared the bandstand with musicians including Victor Goines, Buddy Guy, Chuck Webb, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Hubert Sumlin, Paul Marinaro, Frank D’Rone, The New Standard Quintet, Abigail Riccards, Bobbi Wilsyn, Tammy McCann, Duke Payne, Jimmy Owens, Willie Kent, Pinetop Perkins, and Red Holt, and toured Europe with Carrie and Lurie Bell.

Linard Stroud, Jr. began playing drums at the age of three, alongside his father at Chicago’s legendary Lakefront Drum Circle. Since then, he has performed and recorded with notable artists including Lionel Hampton, CeCe Winans, Jennifer Holliday, Rickey Dillard, Buddy Guy, Syl Johnson, and Steve Arrington.
