Jon Irabagon, winner of the 2008 Thelonious Monk Saxophone Competition, debuts a new trio for the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, beginning new relationships with Kevin Gunawan (bass) and Christian Hindratno (drums), two newcomers to the creative music scene in Chicago. The trio boasts new compositions as well as original takes on jazz standards. Recent accolades include features in Downbeat Magazine and an Illinois Arts Council Artist Fellowship Award.
