Parking, Transportation and Other Logistics

There is free street parking around the Midway Plaisance. All University surface lots are available and free. There are fee-based parking garages on 61st/Drexel (near Logan Center) and 55th/S.Ellis (near Smart Museum).

Most Festival venues are a short walking distance from each other. There is a free ADA Accessible Festival Shuttle. Please see the Festival Program for a detailed map. The shuttles run all day/evening on Saturday, September 28th on a 15-minute cycle. The Festival Program map also includes information about Divvy bike stations. Most venues have bike racks.


Venue information

Please see specific details on the Venue page on this Website or in the Festival Program, which is downloadable to desktop or phone. The Midway Plaisance Festival Grounds has picnic areas if you wish to bring your own chairs, blanket, etc. The Festival also provides ample seating if you do not wish to bring your own or are visiting Chicago (yay, welcome). There are many food vendors along the Midway Plaisance Festival Grounds and beer/wine/NA beverages can be purchased. The Smart Museum is an outdoor venue and they provide some seating as well. All other venues are indoors and provide seating. All venues and buses are ADA accessible. Please see individual Venue pages for details on services available at each venue.


Hotels and Dining

Hotels close to the Festival grounds include The Study Hotel; The Sophy Hotel; Hyatt Harper Court Hotel.

There are many excellent restaurants in Hyde Park. Many of them are along 53rd Street and 55th Street.
